Valentine's Day Puzzle & Tic-Tac-Toe

Felt Tic-Tac-Toe Game in a pouch I made for Gracie this year for Valentine's Day.

Love Always Wins!

Last year's gift was these puzzle cubes, painted with acrylic craft paints in six colors.

Rosebud Bunny

A rosebud bunny with pin dot ears, my second Baby Bunny using a pattern from Funky Friends Factory.

My girl approves and happily helped me wrap it up as a gift for a young friend.

The 8th Wedding Anniversary is Bronze

The traditional gift for the 8th wedding anniversary is bronze. I considered a lot of ideas but nothing seemed quite right until I decided on the simple and logical gift of cookies!

I still wanted something bronze, so I painted the lid of a jar.

I don't know that I'd call it bronze but it looks nice! I filled the jar with lemon poppyseed cookies in the shape of the number 8.

The letter S is for hanging on the wall, also in a bronze finish.

Happy 8th Anniversary to my Sweetie!

And Mini Chocolate Stars.

Welcome Baby Cookies

Our very good friends, Karis & Jeff, just had a baby girl.

Time to celebrate with pink ducky and monogram cookies!

Welcome, Baby Isabel.

Congratulations Karis & Jeff and big brothers Peyton & Liam.

We can't wait to meet the new member of your family!

Firetruck Birthday Ts & Cookies

Liam and Peyton just had their 3rd birthday!

The boys are fascinated by firefighters and had their birthday party at a fire station. We couldn't make it to the party, but I made and sent presents.

Cookies, of course!

 And t-shirts!

Last year I made them personalized Elmo and Cookie Monster t-shirts. I liked the results so much (and am thrilled by how much wear the boys get out of them!) that I did it again this year.

Happy Birthday, Liam & Peyton!

Scrabble Birthday Cookies

I love a gift with a theme! When I saw this Scrabble Mug at The Spoon Sisters, I knew I had the perfect present for my friend Jennifer's birthday.

So I ordered the mug and headed into the kitchen to make these Scrabble tile cookies.

I have fond memories of evenings at The Albatross Pub in Berkeley with Jennifer, playing Scrabble while enjoying a pint of cider.

And I know Jennifer is a fan of iced sugar cookies.

Happy Birthday, Jennifer!

Copper Anniversary Mobile

One of the traditional gifts for the 7th wedding anniversary is copper, so I made this mobile out of copper wire for Art. The ribbon is 1/4" wide which will give you a sense of size.

I was inspired by Alexander Calder's wire sculptures and mobiles and by Pablo Picasso's line drawings.

It was fun to think of different shapes and variations and watch the project evolve. This was my first wire sculpture and first mobile; I learned a lot about both and was pleased with the result!

Happy Anniversary, Sweetie!

Happy Birthday Cookies

When we were in San Diego earlier in the summer, MomSu and I decorated some cookies together.

We used this set of cookie cutters from Wilton.

And these sprinkles for our color palette.

Happy Birthday, Auntie Moe!

Then we decorated a few teapots and teacups.
