Two Tulips

My second tulip is blooming today, with more on the way. The baby lizards are starting to come out, too. It's spring in Houston!

Ribbon Ball

I made this ribbon ball as a birthday present for Gracie. She saw me working on it and got excited! I think she'll love it. And it's finished over a month early!

Tulip!

It feels like spring at our house, the tulips are doing well and are starting to bloom.

Another Heart Garland

This time I used paper from this Martha Stewart Mat Pad, eyelets and ribbon to make a heart garland for Gracie's room. I like the way the solid color backs are reflected in the mirror.

Gracie, watching me put up her garland, started making her happy squealing noises. High praise indeed!

Heart Garland

I wanted a quick and simple, yet festive, decoration project for Valentine's Day. Here's what I came up with.

I used the felt left over from Gracie's Christmas stocking and some yarn left over from a baby blanket to make this heart garland. I traced around a cookie cutter for the pattern and cut out 12 hearts. Then I threaded the yarn on a sharp tapestry needle and took a stitch and tied an overhand knot at the top of each heart bump.

Here it hangs in the window opening over the kitchen sink which looks into the dining room. Quick, simple and festive. Mission accomplished!
